WOLLASTON Lawn Tennis Club (WLTC) members are all competing for their place in the Club Championship Finals Day on September 17.

Over 50 members have signed up to the 2016 adult competitions, with the junior section playing in a day of qualifying on Saturday, September 10.

Dave Edwards and his partner Amy Fellows came through a tight quarter-final 7-6, 6-3 and now march through to the semi-finals.

Edwards is 13-time WLTC men’s singles winner and is again looking to bag the title.

The club championships cover men’s and ladies singles and doubles together with a mixed and junior competition. Qualifying rounds takes place from the end of June.

Club coach Richard Cartwright said: “There is always an extra buzz around the club at this time of year as the club championships are being played. The club also runs a plate competition for all the first-round losers so everyone has a chance to get a place in finals day.”

The finals day is scheduled to take part on September 17 from 2pm. Non-members are welcome to watch the action.
