THERE was no shortage of goals on the Beacon Championship front this week.

Newcomers FC Premier fired nine as they gunned down early season pacesetters Claregate Rangers, a tally matched by Old Bush to see off battling Pensnett Youth.

Inflicting the damage for a clinical FC Premier side were Troy Gardner, Jack Woolridge both two, Simon Gough, Kyle Thorpe, Alex Cashmore, Andy Day and Brad Coward. Meanwhile, Dave Jones notched three for Old Bush, supported by two goal Luke Cole, Martin Hollis, Leigh Chance, Luke Speed and Simon Sidhu.

Local rivals, Dynamo Dudley and Pensnett Panthers kept up their push for league honours as both made it six wins in seven this term.

The former, who have the better goal difference, saw off a strong challenge from third place Codsall Station 4-2, while Panthers' Ryan Cartwright was spot-on with two successful penalties as he struck a hat-trick in a 4-1 home triumph over Sandwell Action. Dominic Parker also netted for the Panthers, while James Walker replied.

Dynamo had Joe Lawley converting from the spot to give his side an early advantage at Codsall, before Liam Davies responded to make it 1-1 at the break.

After the interval, Ben Hickman and Leon Naylor gave Dynamo a 3-1 lead, before Steve Bills replied. In the closing stages, Luke McDonnell bagged a crucial fourth goal as Dynamo took all three points.

Completing a busy day on the goal front were unbeaten Old Cross Athletic and Whitmore Reans with respective victories over Shere Punjab (7-1) and Pendeford (5-1).

With two games in hand on the top two, Old Cross extended their excellent start to five league games undefeated as Ashley Thompson hit a double, backed by Jordan Anderson, James Lunn, Ryan Long, Jared Kallah and Tyrone Fisher.

On the cup front, the Beacon league has five clubs contesting the second round stage of the Birmingham County FA Sunday Amateur Cup, including holders Pensnett Panthers, who visit Wolverhampton Sunday side Wrottesley OB on November 20.

Other ties - all on November 6 - are, Codsall Station v Newbridge (W'ton), Warwick Wanderers v Whitmore Reans, Albion Tividale v Claregate Rangers, Punchbowl Kingshurst v Old Cross Athletic.
