CHAIRMAN Paul Garner is welcoming applications for the Black Country Rangers manager's job but insists he is in no rush to replace Steve Hinks.

Hinks, appointed in September, rejoined forces with sparring partner Richard Sneekes at Sutton Coldfield Town a fortnight ago with Garner taking the reins alongside Paul Davies.

"We are just motoring on at the minute," said Garner. "We haven't lost any players or games so while we continue to look for someone, things have been ticking along nicely.

"A lot depends on who comes in. If the right person is interested and wants to take over straight away then we will consider it but we have a couple of games before Christmas and imagine we will take those.

"Last time, the outgoing manager left us with no players but that has not happened this time. We have learned our lessons and managed to keep hold of our squad."

Nick Turton, Leigh Pardoe and Tyree Clarke struck in the first half as Rangers eased to a 3-1 win at rock-bottom Gornal on Saturday.

Garner hopes to have a full squad to pick from for Saturday's league trip to AFC Bridgnorth (3pm) with the interim boss hopeful of bolstering his strikeforce with an unnamed player from Black Country's level within the next week.

"We have a seven-day approach in," he added. "His strike rate is pretty good and that's what we're lacking at the moment. We are creating 10 or 15 chances a game without scoring as many as we should be."
