TWO of the world's top squash players were on show at a special exhibition match at Stourbridge Lawn Tennis and Squash Club.

Men's world squash champion and current world number two Gregory Gaultier featured with England's Daryl Selby on Wednesday, November 30.

Players were introduced to the court with music pumping out as the evening began and the many spectators and sponsors were in for a treat.

Gaultier was in irresistible form early on as he put the pressure on World number 17 Selby.

Selby stayed with Gaultier in the first few games but the skill and tenacity from the Frenchman eventually proved too much.

Gaultier was in sublime form and showed this narrowly beating Selby 3-2 in just over an hour on the spectacular glass show court in front of 170 spectators.

Spectators came from all over the Midlands to witness two players at their very best. Tickets had sold out in 48 hours to watch this squash spectacle.

After the match the players mingled with the spectators and club members and had photographs taken and signed autographs.

Earlier in the evening Gaultier and Selby had taken part with the juniors in group coaching sessions and also one-to-one coaching. Also present at the junior coaching was Cameron Piley, the world number 13, from Australia who visited when he heard of the event.

Gaultier and Selby thanked the spectators and sponsors for making the evening so enjoyable and said how much they looked forward to seeing everyone at future events.
