GORNAL remain without a single point this season following defeat against Wellington last Saturday.
They have now lost all of their 21 games so far this campaign.
The Peacocks found themselves 2-0 down at Garden Walk before Oliver Manoochehri fired in a free kick to give them hope before the break.
However, despite a hard-fought second period, Gornal couldn't find a way back and eventually conceded a third late on.
Boss Matt Fisher said there were plenty of positives to take from the Wellington performance and hopes a positive start to the new year can help turn their fortunes around.
"I thought we did really well," he said. "Both of their two goals in the first half were deflected but we came back and gave it a really good go in the second half.
"We will take the positives from it and look to end a difficult the year on a high. We need to pick up three points before we run out of time."
Athletic handed young under-21 keeper Josh Bennett his debut between the sticks against Wellington and Fisher was pleased with how he took to the challenge.
He added: "We promoted Joshua to the starting line up and he did well. It is a sign of what we are trying to do here at Gornal and I think people are starting to see that. We are building a team and developing our own players."
Gornal were set to face relegation rivals Dudley Sports on Tuesday night before starting the new year with a league cup clash at Wolverhampton Sporting on January 3.
There next league game will be at Pegasus Juniors on Saturday, January 7.
