OLDBURY middleweight Craig Cunningham has had his British title hopes dashed after his fight with Tommy Langford was called off.
Langford has instead taken up the chance to fight for the WBO interim World Middleweight title against Brooklyn-based Georgian Avtandil Khurtsidze in the Leicester Arena on Saturday, April 22.
Cunningham, fresh from his upset of former Olympic medallist Anthony Ogogo in Birmingham, will instead keep busy with a fight on the Tommy Owens Promotions' 'Heavy Fire' show at Villa Park on March 18 while another title shot is being lined up.
The 28-year-old said: "I'm gutted and my team are trying to sort me another title shot further down the line.
"In the meantime I need to stay positive and active so I'll be fighting at Villa Park on March 18."
