STOURBRIDGE had a chance to take on local rivals DK after scheduled opponents Veseyans pulled out at short notice.

The contest at Stourton Park on December 30 was played out over four 30 minute quarters to provide plenty of game time for players in the clubs' 30-man squads.

Despite a significant winning margin for Stour the game was closer than the 51-5 scoreline suggested.

The match was hard-fought in midfield with plenty of possession for both teams however the hosts showed greater tenacity in defence and were more clinical in attack.

Stourbridge now hope to host further under-21 fixtures which provide valuable experience for younger players from every level within the club.

The seniors are back in action next Saturday with a double header at Stourton Park, the Lions take on Lutterworth at 12.30pm before the first XV face Sheffield in National 2 North (3pm).

Admission for both games costs £5.
