BELOW par Lye Town still managed to pick a point at relegation threatened Shrewsbury side Haughmond following a 2-2 draw in Shropshire.

Jack Pearlman put Lye in front before half time but goals from George Carpenter and Steve Hole looked to have snatched the points for Haughmond before Lee Chilton popped up with a leveller.

Lye boss Craig Harris said: "We weren't at our best and looked a bit dis-jointed at times but on the plus side we managed to pick up a point.

"We played much better against Shepshed, especially in the second half and got nothing!

Lye embark on a challenging four games in eight day spell, starting on Saturday with a trip to Nottingham strugglers South Normanton who they beat 5-2 just a couple of weeks ago.

That is followed by a hastily re-arranged home game against AFC Wulfrunians on Tuesday before travelling to Loughborough University on Thursday.

Lye then face Rugby on the following Saturday for good measure.

Lye have lost the services of Stourbridge loanee Brandon Hague who has been called back by the Glassboys.

Harris said: "He was like a breath of fresh air and it was a pleasure to have him at Lye".

Busy Harris also praised the contribution made by his assistant manager Lee Downes who has decided to step down.

Harris added: "Lee was professional and dedicated both on and off the pitch and it was a blow when he chose to leave.

"I want to thank him for everything he has done at Lye and wish both him and Brandon all the best for the future".
