CAPTAIN Josh Banks says there is plenty more to come from his in-form Stourbridge side.

Second-placed Stour have enjoyed a fine start to the season and made it five successive wins when putting Lichfield to the sword last Saturday.

They restricted their visitors to 193 after winning the toss and fielding at the War Memorial Ground. Dwayne Crossgill and Jujhar Johal took three wickets each.

Opener Harshad Patel fell for 32 in Stour's reply but Johal (80 not out) and Matt Bradley (67 not out) guided them to a nine-wicket win.

Banks said: "We bowled quite well really. We dropped a few catches but that's something we'll be working on this week.

"It was a solid all-round performance from us and we're playing with confidence at the moment.

"I still think there is plenty more to come from us. I think we've been playing in about third gear so far, which is really exciting."

However, it wasn't all joy last weekend as they did suffer a 120-run defeat at Nantwich in the ECB National Club Championship.

"We did lose on Sunday but that may not be such a bad thing in the long run as it's a bit of a reality check for us," added the skipper.

"Even though we've start the season well it shows us that we've still got some work to do."

Stour will go to second from bottom side Whitchurch this Saturday looking to keep the heat on early leaders Rugby.

They will have to do without overseas player Nathan Crudeli due to injury.
