A LEADING figure in Worcestershire cricket is to be honoured at a memorial match hosted by his home club.

Enville Cricket Club will be the venue for a match in memory of Frank Golding, who was secretary of the Worcestershire Border league before becoming a member of the committee that created the Worcestershire County League.

Mr Golding, who died in 2016 aged 82, captained Enville's first X1 from 1975 to 1981 and led the club to its first league championship.

He went on to become the club's chairman for seven years and was also its ground co-ordinator and first qualified junior section coach.

The game in memory of Mr Golding, between a chairman's XI and Enville, will take place at the Hall Drive club on Sunday June 17 starting at 2pm.

Past team mates and opponents are invited to attend along with their families and friends.
