Brierley shock leaders

SPOT-ON Brierley Hill Sports Bar produced a shock in the Stourbridge Snooker League when they defeated reigning champions and league leaders Kinver Constitutional A.
Only Darren Oakes, who inflicted the first defeat of the season on John Pritchett, was successful for Kinver as Russ Edwards, Luke Garland, Callum Downing and debutant Saqib Nasir all won a series of well contested frames.
The result leaves the Brierley Hill side five points adrift of Kinver with a match in hand.
Norton Social A secured a 3-2 win at Brierley Hill’s B team thanks to Ashley Aston, Steve Mason and Adam Ness.
The result means Norton share second spot with West Midlands Police, for whom Kev Franklin won the decider away to Snooks SC A, stretching his unbeaten start to the season in the process.
Amblecote Institute A slammed Snooks SC B 5-0, with Andy Round taking his tally to seven straight wins for the season.
Pockets SC A join the other four teams in a five way tie for second place with a 4-1 win over their B team.
The highlight was a third 50 plus break of the season for 18 year old Andy Smith while team mates Darren Rose, John Betton and Kevin Ellis all had to come from some distance behind to win
