STOURBRIDGE have been boosted further by news that two of last season’s key players have agreed to stay at the club as they bid once again for a place in the Conference.

Long serving midfield man Leon Broadhurst and striker Chris Knight have become the latest members of last season’s squad to commit to themselves to the Glassboys for the 2013-14 campaign.

Boss Gary Hackett said: “I’m also hoping to tie-up further deals in the next few days with a couple more players set to put pen to paper after agreeing terms.”

Meanwhile, the Amblecote side have added an away match at Tipton Town to their pre-season schedule on Wednesday, July 31 (7.30pm).

Tipton are now managed by former Dudley Town and Gornal Athletic boss Ian Rowe who accepted the post recently having he left the Garden Walk club in May.

n The Southern League have announced new title sponsors for the 2013-14 season in Calor, whose headquarters are in Warwick.

They currently sponsor the home shirts of Conference Premier outfit Woking and replace Evo-stik as title sponsors from next month.

It was also confirmed at the league’s AGM that clubs will now be able to opt out of competing in the League Cup competition.

At the league dinner on Saturday night, Stourbridge president Hugh Clark, Hackett, Jon Ford and Mark Clifton, collected the Premier Division Runners-Up Cup and a cheque for £2,500 from league chairman Ken Turner.
