HEATHENS legends Alan Grahame and Jan O Pedersen will be honoured for their contribution to the club at a special event later this month.
A celebration of the 1983 Cradley double winning side to commemorate the 30th anniversary is taking place at Cradley Heath Liberal Club on Friday, August 23.
And team manager from that season, Peter Adams, is also a special guest.
The current Dudley Heathens team will be invited along to the event, which will also feature 80s music and an auction including a signed 1983 replica Cradley race jacket signed by world champions Pedersen, Erik Gundersen, Billy Hamill and Greg Hancock.
And, a limited edition souvenir brochure will be launched on the night with interviews with all the team, plus previously unseen photographs. Copies will be available for £5 on the night as a launch price with £7 the usual price.
Heathens chairman Nigel Pearson said: “This is shaping up to be a good night and we have had a lot of interest in tickets.
“I’m sure there will be lots of great stories from Big Al and Jan O. We are making a presentation to recognise their contributions to Cradley Heath Speedway.
Tickets priced £10 are available from the online shop at dudleyheathens.co or from the track shop next Tuesday at the Stoke match.
Injured Gareth Isherwood is expected back for Tuesday’s meeting and if skipper Ashley Morris needs more time out with his thumb injury they will operate the rider replacement facility.
Heathens are also hoping to have Max Clegg, their in-form reserve, back in the side after three weeks out.
