CRADLEY Town have parted company with striker Cieran Clark after he failed to show up for their friendly fixture Redditch United.
Cradley general manager Marcus McDonald said: “I heard he’d been turning out for other sides in pre-season so we agreed to go our separate ways.”
The Hammers commence their West Midland League campaign on Saturday with a trip to Wednesfield followed by a short journey to face Black Country Rangers on Wednesday night.
Cradley warmed up with a 5-0 beating of West Midlands Police following their 3-1 reverse against Redditch.
Former Highgate United player Jimmy Welnischuk came off the bench to net twice against the Police with Spencer Blackham, Chad Shepherd and Alex Penney also on target.
McDonald has also recruited Courteney Seymour and Alex Mannen from local Sunday football while George Westwood has arrived on loan from Redditch.
n Causeway United clinched a couple of draws to open their Midland Alliance campaign.
They commenced with a 2-2 at Coventry Sphinx last Saturday after Johvan Blake-Walker had fired the Halesowen side into an early lead.
Sphinx struck back twice to claim the lead but Causeway finished the stronger side and levelled matters through central defender Rob Whitley.
Tuesday saw Causeway twice take the lead at Stourport Swifts, Chris Bladen firing them in front before Jack Pearlman added a second when heading home from a corner. This time it was Swifts who finished on top.
Causeway travel to Leicester based Kirby Muxloe this Saturday before entertaining Tipton Town next Tuesday.
The club are also on the lookout for any volunteers to help on match days following their return to Halesowen Town. Anyone interested should contact chairman Carl Burley on 07795 322840.
