Bull gets ready for big title clash

WHILE Steve Bull is a name revered around Wolverhampton Wanderers footballing circles — there’s also a Wordsley version making itself known in a different sport.
Like his more famous namesake, Steve Bull has a bit of football pedigree having played for Lye Town, Dudley Sports, Gornal Athletic plus the former Brierley and Hagley Alliance.
But Bull, 24, is now following an increasingly popular trend by turning his attentions to the boxing ring.
Having only taken up boxing last Christmas, Bull is being lined up for a shot at the white collar BBA English light middleweight title, which takes place in Stourbridge on September 7.
Bull has three fights under his belt already, stopping his opponents on every occasion.
He said: “Boxing has always been in my blood. I started doing boxing training just to get fit for football, but now it’s taken over.”
Bull trains at Coops Camp in Brockmoor and Lye Boxing Academy with Richie Wyatt, who is also his promoter.
Now Bull aims for his fourth straight win at Stourbridge Arena.
