DUDLEY Sports let a 2-0 lead slip from their grasp and were finally forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at early season West Midlands League Premier Division pace-setters Wellington.
Goals from Liam Morris and Dominic Strevens put Sports in command at half-time but late strikes from Dave Price and Saul Thomas meant a share of the points.
Joint Sports boss Tony Gore said: “Before the game, I would have gladly taken a 2-2 draw, but in the end we were disappointed not to get the win.
“In truth, it was probably a fair result, because we had the advantage of a strong wind in the first-half and I think that played a big part in the game.”
Sports were able to call upon Luke Williams who has returned to the ranks following a short spell at Lye Town.
Gore said: “We’re not looking to bring anyone else in at the moment.”
Sports were due to have a midweek friendly with Tividale before entertaining Wolverhampton Casuals in the league on Saturday.
