Ben bags a full house for Enville
10:53am Thursday 12th September 2013 in Sport
ENVILLE seam bowler Ben Shorter has been celebrating on cloud nine after taking all 10 wickets against Bewdley.
Shorter’s full house couldn’t have arrived at a better time for Enville who are still in with a shout of promotion to the top flight of Worcestershire League cricket.
Shorter said: “Once I’d got six or seven down, I started to think perhaps I could get all 10. My best-mate Carl Bust was bowling at the opposite end and having no luck.
“It got to nine wickets down and then I had an over at their last man and didn’t get him — he kept finding the gaps and I thought my chance had gone.
“In the next over, the batsman kept giving chances, but they all fell short.
“I knew I had to get him in my next over and I managed to clean bowl him.
“It was a surreal feeling and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
Shorter’s efforts held bowl Bewdley out for just 87 after Enville had earlier posted a target of 231 for seven.
Enville must win their final fixture at Harvington this Saturday and hope placed Cookley slip-up against Netherton to clinch promotion.
