Hagley halt poor run of form

HAGLEY halted a run of poor form with a three wicket win over Droitwich in Worcestershire League Division One.
Droitwich were dismissed for 195 in the final over with Max Young making top score off 77, while Amjad Ali proved pick of Hagley’s bowling attack by claiming 4-49.
Hagley reached their target in with 20 balls to spare.
Skipper Paul Morgan saw his side safely over the line with 47 not out while Ali added 39.
n Pedmore condemned Hereford side Burghill and Tillington to relegation with a five-wicket win.
Jack Hale made 92 in Burghill’s total of 210 all out, but it proved to no avail as Pedmore responded with 214-5 with 15 overs to spare.
Opener Danny McDonnell carried his bat to make 89 not out after Chris Bourne had earlier claimed three for 36 with the ball.
n Already-relegated Oldswinford were totally overwhelmed by Worcester.
Mike Grafton made 126 not out as Worcester reached a mammoth 332-5 before skittling out Oldswinford for just 75 in the space of 27.5 overs.
Liam Weston with four for 24 and Mark Jones who took three for 11 did most of the damage while Stuart Alston made top score of 21.
n Division Three champions Lye had their local derby with Stourbridge Social abandoned after their borrowed ground at Halesowen’s Earls High School was deemed unfit for play.
n Bottom side Himley thirds suffered an eight wicket reverse against Himbleton.
Andy Mackleworth turned back the clock to make 58 in Himley’s total of 163 all out but Himbleton had no problems knocking off the required runs to reach 164-2, Dave Brace unbeaten on 62 not out after Paul Guy had earlier prised out figures of 5-13 from 14 overs.
The result relegates Romsley and Hunnington along with Himley.
