Hagley finish season in third spot

HAGLEY finished their Worcestershire League campaign on a high following a 124-run win over Worcester.
Runs flowed from the bats of Joe Lennon, who made 72, Amjad Ali with 69 and Simon Jones who struck a further 58.
They helped Hagley post a massive total of 350-9 before removing Worcester for 226 with six overs to spare.
Mike Jones proved pick of Hagley’s bowling attack by taking 5-87 while James Russell and Ben Tolley both impressed with the ball.
Hagley finish in third place as a result behind Division One champions Astwood Bank and runners-up Bromyard.
n Pedmore pinched sixth place after overcoming already relegated Oldswinford by seven wickets.
James Burgoyne turned back the clock as he wrecked Oldswinford’s innings by taking 6-33 off 15 overs.
Wasim Ashiq then mopped up the tail with 3-11 as Oldswinford were removed for 164, opener Christy Kehoe top scored with 40.
Pedmore quickly plundered the required runs, racing to a winning 169-3 in just 23.3 overs, opening batsmen Wasim Ashiq with 57 and Danny McDonnell on 66 providing the bulk of that total.
n Belbroughton’s contest with Bromyard was abandoned.
n Enville missed out on promotion to the top flight after losing out to Division Two champions Harvington by 114 runs following a 25 over thrash.
Harvington hammered 227-5, Jayden Lennox leading the charge with 45 not out, while Enville could only manage 113-9 in response after Tom Bingham topscored with 39.
n Lye can look forward to Division Two cricket after dominating the third flight this term.
The Stourbridge Road side rounded off the season with a five wicket win over Avoncroft.
David James struck a spendid 155 for Avoncroft as they reached 236-9, but it proved to no avail as Lye replied with 240-5.
