OLDBURY triathlete Jodie Stimpson pulled out all the stops to finish fourth at the ITU World Triathlon Series event which took place in Hyde Park at the weekend.

Stimpson finished just 34 seconds adrift of winner and fellow Brit Non Stanford — but clinched second place overall in the series.

It signalled a breakthrough season for Stimpson, who missed the Olympics, has now booked a place in next year’s Commonwealth Games.

The 24 year old claimed: “I was really gutted to miss out last year and it meant a lot to come back here.

“I wanted to put on a good show for my family, as I felt I let them down last year.” by not qualifying. Hopefully this has made up a little bit for missing the Olympics.”
