Anslow clocks quickest relay time

STOURBRIDGE Running Club tasted a welcome success when they dominated the JW Ultra Relay Race.
The event comprised of three 10-mile legs along canal towpaths from Stratford-upon-Avon to Bournville.
The Stourbridge team of Rob Coleman, Duncan Cornish and Chris Blake won the vent when they completed the course in three hours and 16 minutes.
Just for good measure, Stourbridge also came second as well through Dave Sheppard, Andy Aston and Mike Anslow who clocked 3.22, the highlight being Mike Anslow who completed his leg in 59.55.
The club are now taking entries for their flagship event, the Stourbridge Stagger, a 10-mile multi terrain event which is scheduled for February 2, 2014.

Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers saw their Midland Six Stage Road Relay challenge collapse at Sutton Park this week when the club failed to finish the event.
Paul Waby got the DASH charge off to a fine start by clocking 20 minutes and 24 seconds for the opening 3.6-mile leg bringing his side back home in 38th place from the 100 teams taking part.
He proved the club’s quickest runner on the day and he clocked the 140th fastest time from the 560 runners taking part.
Jordan Smith ran 24.47 for the second leg as DASH dropped to 68th, handing over to Dave Ratcliffe who ran 21.23, He was followed by Scott Parker, who clocked 22.12, bringing the side back to 53rd place.
He handed over to Andy Mason, who ran 25.54.
However, but DASH failed to complete the final leg as Lee Slater aggrevated a tendon injury while warming up and proved unable to take part.
