HAYLEY Green youngster Nikita Setchell has been enjoying a rising tide of success at white water slalom canoeing.
The 13-year-old Windsor High School pupil has been making waves on the British scene recently where she is a junior champion.
Setchell made the England junior team at just 11 and has been making such headway that she now competes in open age competition and is ranked 10 in the GB Canoe Union.
She travels the country for top competition under the watchful eye of parents Alison and Martyn Setchell who are no mean canoists in their own right.
Alison said: “I have to compete against my own daughter, who regularly beats me.
“We must easily average 1,000-miles-a-week travelling to training camps and taking part in competitions. We went to a training camp in France this summer, such are the demands at top class level.”
