KINVER’S Kaytee Poolton heads off to represent Great Britain next week at the World Powerlifting Championships which take place in the Czech Republic capital Prague.
The 19 year old was selected to represent the British Powerlifting Union following an impressive performance at Folkestone in Kent last month.
Kaytee will compete in the 52 kilo category and hasn’t looked back since dropping down from 56 kilos.
She pulled out all the stops at Folkestone, producing a squat of 105 kilos, a new record for her union.
Kaytee also bench-pressed 52.5 kilos and then perfomed a deadlift of 120 kilos.
She only took to powerlifting recently and explained: “I did a personal training course at Dudley College. We all had to choose a personal category, mine was strength and conditioning|”.
Kaytee hasn’t looked back since. In her first competition she competed at 56 kilos, but since dropping down a weight has gone from strength to strength.
She now trains at the Stourbridge based gym Fitness Factory in Bradley Road.
