STOURBRIDGE Running Club picked up a pleasing third place when they took part in the Birmingham Cross Country League at Leamington Spa.
The team of Duncan Cornish, Chris Blake, Kevin Burke, Pete Walters, Adam Harris, Rob Colman, Andy Aston, David Sheppard, Matt Sutton, Paul Giles, Mark Farnan and Paul Bradley helped the A team to third spot and the B team to second place.
The ladies team of Joan Clarke, Natalie Dellar, Zoe Yeomans and Jane Tibbitts took 22nd place.
Stourbridge also came fifth in Division Two of the North Staffordshire Cross Country League.
Duncan Cornish led the side home followed by Mike Anslow and Adrian Hingley.
Joan Clarke was quickest of the ladies.
Entries are being invited for the 10 mile multi terrain Stourbridge Stagger which takes place on February 2.
Details are available on the club website srclub.co.uk n Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers produced some pleasing performances at the second West Midlands Young Athletes Cross Country League which took place in Wolverhampton.
Isobel Sladen led the DASH charge in the under-11 girls race by coming home in 34th place, just edging ahead of Emmie Corbett who was 36th, with both runners being given the same time.
Lucy Attwood was close behind in 44th place, Jasmine Priantoro 91st and Chloe Everton 94th as DASH came eighth out of 19 teams.
Elliot Jones had an excellent run in the Under-15 boys race to finish eighth while Alex Hurrell came home in 31st spot in the Under-11 boys race.
Sister and brother Grace and Thomas Slater where the first DASH runners home at Under-13 level in 55th and 27th places respectively while Elizabeth Allen did well to take 32nd spot in the Under-15 girls race.
