CRADLEY’S new-look speedway team will take to the stage during the club's official season launch event on Saturday.

The team, including big winter signing Steve Worrall, will meet supporters at Cradley Heath Liberal Club.

Worrall, brother of Great Britain international Richie, has linked up with the Heathens for the defence of their National League title.

He’ll meet up with his colleagues and talk to fans at the sold out launch night.

He said: “I can’t wait for the season to start now – it’s been a long winter for me and I just need to get going again.

“I know most of the lads pretty well and it will be good to see all of them and get together as a team for the first time this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to going down and meeting the fans as well.

“They are a good bunch of people who I know are crazy about their speedway, and I just can’t wait to ride for a team with such good backing.”

Heathens fans are eagerly awaiting the club’s new race jacket design as Cradley return to league racing after a gap of 18 years. A new range of club merchandise will also be unveiled at the same time on Saturday.

Merchandise will also be available online at the club’s official website and at the new club shop on Quarry Bank High Street next Monday.

Heathens chairman Nigel Pearson said: “There has been a lot of interest in the new Cradley race jacket and the new club merchandise.

“It’s going to be a great night on Saturday and the guys at the club shop will have items in stock. I’ve seen a couple of designs and it looks great.

“And Printworx at Quarry Bank have already had speedway fans in the shop asking when they can buy Cradley stuff.”
