CAPTAIN Greg Wright says Himley's players will be doing all they can to put a frustrating few weeks behind them.

A rain-interupted home game against West Bromwich Dartmouth on Saturday saw Himley lose by three wickets.

They scored 220 for six in 50 overs with Worcestershire’s Tom Kohler-Cadmore top scoring with 42. He and Jamie Harris (36) put together an opening stand of 84 which laid the foundation for Himley’s total.

However, after a number of rain interruptions, Dartmouth were faced with a revised target of 169 to win in 32 overs. A task they achieved for the loss of seven wickets with eight balls to spare thanks to 46 from Mohammed Sajid and 41 from Aqsad Ali. Himley’s left-arm seamer Danny Smith bowled well to take 5 for 21.

The outcome left Wright frustrated after feeling his side did more than enough to secure the win.

He said: "I think we did really well and I was happy with our total. But the more it rained the more it favoured them. It's frustrating but we just need to keep believing and performing how we have been.

The league defeat followed the previous weekend's loss to Kidderminster Victoria when Himley fell short after a number of injury set-backs.

They then lost to Kidderminster again last Sunday in the second round of the National Club Championship to round off a disappointing week.

However, Wright is determined to turn things around when Himley travel to face Kenilworth Wardens on Saturday.

"It's frustrating because we haven't done a lot wrong but have lost both games," he added. "We want to put that right and are determined to get what we deserve from games."

Himley's task will be made harder by the absence of Nathan Round and Worcestershire's Tom Cadmore.
