HALESOWEN dropped to the bottom of division two of the Birmingham Premier League after suffering defeat against Attock last Saturday.

Hales won the toss at Seth Somers Park and elected to bowl at their visitors.

Despite Eddie Rhodes taking the wicket of opener Sultan Mahmood for 11 and number three Rawait Khan for eight, a 45 from fellow opener Mohammed Qamar Khan helped Attock reach a total of 160.

Their final score was limited thanks to good bowling from Zain Shahid and Richard Brooker who powered through the middle and lower order as Attock was bowled out after 44.3 overs.

However, Hales' run chase started badly as opener Faisal Shahid and number three Kester Moseley were both removed without scoring a run as Sarmad Anwar got stuck into the the home side's top order.

Fellow opener Tarryck Gabriel (24) and Mohammad Shauib (3) also fell to Anwar.

Wesley Griffiths (39) and Zain Shahid (25), batting at five and six in the order, were the only one to offer any resistance.

They both fell to the bowling of Amjad Zaman, who also went on to take another two wickets as Hales were bowled out for 105 after 25.1 overs.

The result leaves them bottom of the league on 70 points.

Hales will now welcome fourth from bottom Brewood to Seth Somers Park this Saturday as they look to hit back.
