CRADLEY star Tom Perry is looking to keep the winning form going when Heathens face Devon at Monmore Green next Tuesday.

Perry, fresh from two maximums in the club’s double header last week, is feeling back to his best after a six-week gap due to a broken collarbone.

But he’s also keen to avoid any complacency as there are still a lot of meetings to go as Cradley defend their National League title.

He said: "Things look really good for us as a team – everyone is firing at the moment.

“With Paul Starke and Stevie (Worrall) we have a great top two, but Max (Clegg) is flying as well and everyone else is chipping in with important points.

“There’s obviously a long way to go but things are looking good for us at this stage – I think we are going to take some stopping so we should be in for a good season.

“I was really pleased to come away with a max against Mildenhall especially, and the way I was riding as well made it really good.

“The rain we had helped the track and it was in perfect condition really. It’s been a bit slick this season which hasn’t suited me as much, but it worked out well for me and it showed with how I rode.

“I had that outside line working well and I found the set-up to make it work, so it was all good and everything went perfectly really.

“It’s been a pretty tough run with breaking my collarbone early in the season, but hopefully I can just look to get some form going now.

“The way I rode last Tuesday gave me a lot of confidence and to win nine races in one night is obviously going to give you a big boost, so I just need to build on that now.”

July is a big month for the club with next week’s meeting being followed by a local derby with rivals Coventry on July 22 – and seven days later they hold the prestigious FAST Golden Hammer in association with Dudley Stroke Association.

Tickets are also still available for the evening with club legend Billy Hamill at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill on Sunday, July 27. Priced at £10 they can be purchased online at the shop section of cradleyheathens.co or from the club shop, Printworx in Quarry Bank High Street.
