HIMLEY skipper Greg Wright has praised the new found determination that has seen his team go unbeaten in the last three games.

Despite sitting at the foot of the Birmingham and District Premier League after a disappointed start to the campaign, last Saturday's losing draw against Dorridge demonstrated yet more positives as the side continues to try and turn their form around.

Dorridge decided to bat after winning the toss and set their visitors a total of 299 thanks to a sublime 127 from Laurie Evans.

In response, Himley started their innings well as captain Wright (52) and fellow opener Jamie Harris put on 88 for the first wicket.

Harris went on to hit 74 and Nathan Round claimed a solid 34 as Himley finished on 212-6.

"I think we made a good fist of the game," said Wright. "Evans showed his high class but we are becoming a lot harder to beat and are turning the momentum around.

"There are still areas that we have to improve but our attitude and commitment is spot on, which is a big positive.

"I think we took what we could from the game and it gives us a platform going into this Saturday's game against Kidderminster."

Wright now believes his side have what it takes to get a positive result from this weekend's crunch clash against third from bottom Kidderminster Victoria.

"The game against Kidderminster is a good opportunity for us. We are going in the right direction and will be looking to continue that at home next week."

Himley are hopeful Worcestershire will release Tom Kohler-Cadmore for the Kidderminster game after he was unable to play against Dorridge.

Fellow absentee Ben Smith is also set to return to the fold.

"This is the first time I will have had a selection headache all season," added Wright. "Hopefully it has come at just the right time."
