CRADLEY raced to arguably their most impressive victory of the season as they put one over old rivals Mildenhall 50-40 at West Row.

The Heathens have been in dominant form so far this season, but they entered the meeting without star duo Steve Worrall and Paul Starke plus young reserve Danny Phillips.

Despite being heavily depleted, Will Pottinger’s side put in a gutsy display to claim a spectacular win against a strong Fen Tigers side.

It was a superb team effort which sees Cradley extend their winning run to a magnificent 12 matches – and Pottinger was full of praise for his patched up side.

He said: "It was a fantastic effort from everyone. Without our top two guys, and then missing Danny (Phillips) at reserve we thought we were going to be up against it, so to come away from Mildenhall with a ten point win is a brilliant achievement.

"All six lads deserve a great amount of credit for the effort they put in. We probably would have been happy leaving with a point beforehand, so to come away with all four is superb."

Talented youngster Nathan Greaves stepped up with a match-winning display at reserve, piling up a vital 13+2 points to top score for the visitors.

He was involved in four Heathens 5-1s as they established an early lead before Max Clegg reeled off three consecutive wins in his final three rides to see his side over the line.

Guesting at number one Oliver Greenwood and Matt Williamson also recorded two race wins apiece whilst solid showings from Tom Perry and reserve Luke Harris saw Cradley claim a memorable win.
