GORNAL boss Andy Wyton wants his players to show their winning form more consistently.

The Peacocks progressed into the next round of the FA Vase on Saturday with a 5-0 victory against Wolverhampton Sporting.

A Tom Piggott brace and strikes from Dreniz Bala, Scott Devlin and Jason Wood gave their side an away win.

However, Gornal had to get back to winning ways after losing 4-2 at Garden Walk last Tuesday when facing Bridgnorth in the league.

"We win one game then lose the next," said Wyton. "It is one area I want to improve.

"When we are on top we don't have trouble beating team but we seem to struggle to dig out results when we are up against it.

"I think part of the problem has come from the fact that we don't have a settled side. So far I haven't been able to field the same side due to player absence.

"Hopefully that will improve as the season goes on."

Athletic will now take on last weekend's cup opponents, Wolverhampton Sporting, at home in the league this Saturday.

They will then travel to face Haughmond next Tuesday.
