YOUNG members of Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers (DASH) put in some good performances last weekend in the first West Midland Young Athletes cross country league at Warwick.

On a very muddy course and with 120 runners taking part in the under 13 boys race, Thomas Slater had a great run, finishing in an excellent sixth place.

Adam Horton came 54th, Adam Bodin 69th and Harry Walters, in his first cross country race, 70th.

In the men's under 17 race, Elliot Jones had a good run to finish 13th, whilst in the girls under 13 Grace Slater ran well for 18th in a field of over 150 runners.

Jasmine Priantoro came 81st, Chloe Priest 105th and Niamh Crowe 135th completing the team.

The girls under 11 race saw Emmie Corbett and Chloe Everton battle it out all the way round the 1,600 metre course, with Emmie finishing 23rd and Chloe just behind in 26th.

Jay Priantoro was 31st and Reece Ashfield 51st in the under 15 boys race and Amelia Davies 85th in under 15 girls race.

Completing a very competitive day out for the Slater family, Daisy, older sister to Tom and Grace, finished 40th in the under 17 race.
