DUDLEY Kingswinford director of rugby Carl Douglas is set to ring the changes for this Saturday's visit of Lichfield.

DK slipped to another defeat when losing 27-10 away to Hinkley last weekend and Douglas is now preparing the shuffle his pack as he looks to secure the team's second win of the season at Heathbrook.

He said: "There could be some changes to the line-up against Lichfield. It's maybe time to change it around and freshen it up in certain areas of the team.

"We have been making too many mistakes recently and it was the same against Hinkley. Certain players have to cut out the errors in their game because it is costing us.

"We got back in the match at 14-10 at one stage but then let it slip because we conceded too many penalties and made too many mistakes.

Players need to expect more from themselves so we can get beyond playing in fits and starts and put it all together."

One change to the squad could see potential new signing Edlyn Serge included.

The club is hoping the South African lock's registration goes through in time for the weekend.

Against Hinkley, DK began brightly and the early exchanges were evenly contested. However, as Hinckley pressed into the DK 22, persistent infringements tested the patience of the referee and DK were reduced to 14 men with a yellow card to Pete Knight. From the ensuing scrummages, which were repeatedly reset, the first score came from a penalty try which was converted by Mark Lord after 15 minutes.

Hinckley increased their lead as they put together a move which was finished off by their hooker Jordan Goddard and converted by Mark Lord.

DK were not out of the game and dominated the rest of the half. The pressure told as Danny Hawkins went over from a catch and drive at a line out to make it 14-5 at half time

The visitors were first to register a score in the second half as Connah Jones took the ball deep into the opposition half. This was taken on as Rhodri Williams made a half break to feed TJ Gordon who outpaced the cover defence to touch down. Again the try was unconverted.

From this point on Hinckley's more physical pack began to gain ascendancy. As they pressed deep into DK territory a penalty in front of the posts was conceded as DK failed to release in a tackle. This was converted by Mark Lord.

Two more tries were conceded as Hinckley increased the pressure to run out comfortable winners.

"The Lichfield game is now going to be important for both clubs," added Douglas. "It could be a significant for the direction the club will take this season."
