DUDLEY Sports boss Tony Gore says he is looking forward to the second half of the season as his players continue to progress.

Sports are now up to seventh in West Midlands Premier after successfully overcoming a poor set of results at the end of October.

Dudley bounced back to winning ways against Wellington Amateurs last Tuesday after previously suffering three defeats in a row at the hands of Bewdley, Gornal and Bridgnorth.

Gore said: "We have recovered really well from that little run of defeats and have had a good first half of the season.

"We are nearly at the half way stage and I'm looking forward to the second half. We wanted to finish in the top ten and we are on course for that.

"We knew we had a good set of players at the start of the season and I'm delighted with how they have done so far. We have given a really good account of ourselves in most of the games we have played."

Sports were set to take on Highgate in the quarter-final of the Worcestershire Senior Urn last night before facing Willenhall Town away this Saturday.

Last Saturday's trip to Wednesfield was postponed due to the weather.

Dudley have recently lost Ben Davis after he returned to Causeway United.

"We are disappointed to lose Ben after we gave him the chance to play, but we wish him well for the future," added Gore.
