PUNTERS went home happy with numerous winning favourites at the Harkaway Club point-to-point fixture at Chaddesley Corbett on Monday, December 29.

Those winners included Khyber Kim in the Members Conditions. The winner was placed in the 2010 Champion Hurdle but was making his debut for Phil Rowley. The favourite led between the final two fences with Alex Edwards needing all his strength to keep the leader in front.

This same combination scored their second success when Temple Grandin ground out a one length success in the Men's Open.

Hindlip trainer Tom Weston enjoyed a good weekend with three winners in total, one at Cottenham two days before, and two victories at this meeting.

Things got better as the day progressed for Weston because following Soixante Six’s departure at the third fence in the Restricted, he teamed up with William and Angela Rucker’s Triptico who finished third in the Men's Open.

Weston fortunes turned in the Maidens, where Sir Ollar and Mr Jalfrazy were both successful. The Troubled Partnership tasted victory on a number of occasions last year, and their hopes this year have been entrusted to Sir Ollar, who had run well in a number of Irish Point-to-Points.

He had a protracted battle with the runner up till the last before landing the spoils on the flat.

Stablemate Mr Jalfrazy proved too hot for the opposition in the concluding Maiden and he was picked up cheaply by his present connections having shown some promise between the flags last year.
