MANAGER Gary Hackett believes now is the right time to freshen up his Stourbridge squad.

The Glassboys boss says new additions could be imminent at the War Memorial Ground as he looks to mount a push for the play-offs in the second half of the campaign.

Hackett is keen to bolster the numbers at Amblecote after Peter Till and Kristian Ramsey-Dickson were released last week. Andre Francis has now also moved on.

He said: "I think we need freshening up a little. I decided that both Peter Till and Kristian Ramsey-Dickson didn't have what I was looking for. Rather than have them warming the bench I thought it was fairer on the players to move on.

"There are a number of deals we are looking to do and I'm hopeful we will be able to sign one or two before the weekend.

"I won't be adding a lot of new faces but would like maybe three or four if possible."

One player that is now eligible to take the field for the Glassboys is versatile left-sided player Josh Quaynor.

He has now received international clearance after arriving from South Adelaide in Australia last month.

Stour have also moved to extend former youth-team defender Kieran Morris' loan from Brentford for a further month.

However, one player that could leave Stourbridge is Kyle Haynes after Worcester City made an approach for the attack-minded right-back.

But Hackett said he is keen to keep Haynes at the Memorial Ground.

"I will speak to Kyle in depth about it and go from there," he said. "It is one of those things you have to expect in football but I am very keen for him to stay and will be doing all I can to try and keep him at the club."

Meanwhile, Hackett has targeted Stourbridge's away form as an area for improvement.

They lost 3-0 away at Rushall Olympic on New Year's Day before bouncing back with a 3-0 win at home to Witton Albion last Saturday.

Goals from Exodus Geohaghon, Kayelden Brown and George Bowerman secured the points.

"Our away form is one thing that we will be looking to improve as the season goes on," said the manager. "We were brilliant against Witton but it was bittersweet that we couldn't do it just two days before."

Stour will be without the suspended Will Richards this weekend but defender Geohaghon should overcome a knee injury to be able to feature.
