DUDLEY Town and Dudley Sports are hoping derby day joy can turn their fortunes around.

The local rivals will go head-to-head at Town's Dell Stadium this Saturday.

Both sides are looking to get back to winning way after a run of defeats.

Sports have now suffered back-to-back losses following last Saturday's 4-1 home defeat to third from bottom Wolverhampton Sporting Community.

Sports manager Tony Gore has called an instant reaction from his players.

He said: "Our performance was inept. It was one of the worst I can remember.

"There will have to be changes and I am now looking for a response from the group.

"We need to show some fight and desire to win football matches."

Meanwhile, Town go into the contest on the back of 5-1 home defeat at the hands of fourth-placed Shawbury United last Saturday.

The heavy defeat means the Robins have not won in three games.

Chairman Steve Austin said: "We were beaten by the better side last weekend.

"We want to get more points in the second half of the season than we got in the first and move up to a mid-table position.

"To do that we must beat the teams around us.

"No-one is down-hearted and everyone is looking forward to the derby game.

Sports are currently six places and 14 points above their near neighbours.
