LEE Blake netted a hat-trick as Cottage Spring Castle claimed an emphatic 6-1 win over Bushbury EMB Rovers when the Beacon League Premiership's top two clashed.

For 20 minutes the fixture between the high-flyers remained level until Cottage rushed to a 2-0 lead.

However, this spurred Bushbury into action and Thomas Slade pulled a goal back.

Not to be denied, Cottage netted a third to go in 3-1 up at the break.

The second half saw Bushbury unable to find a way through the Cottage defence and the leaders bagged a further three goals in the second half for a comprehensive 6-1 win.

On target for the home team following Blake's treble were Mark Edwards and Daniel Miles (2).

At the bottom of the division, Thimblemill Recreation played hosts to Dynamo Dudley.

The first half was evenly contested, but Jack Whittall put Thimblemill ahead before Dale Whitehouse equalised for Dynamo from a free kick just outside the box, to see the teams go in 1-1 at the break.

Thimblemill went ahead for the second time when James Smart chipped the Dynamo keeper, but Dynamo levelled again thanks to Aaron Lloyd who managed to scramble the ball over the line following a corner. With twenty minutes to go, James Smart scored for Thimblemill to put the home team ahead for a third time, but there was no equaliser to be found for Dynamo as they left empty handed and still rooted to the bottom of the division.

Meanwhile, despite scoring twice in the second half, FC Banterlona had a disappointing afternoon at home to Springvale Steelers Academy.

Trailing 3-0 at the break, Banterlona had an uphill struggle to find a way back into the match and as Academy continued in the same form, they netted a further three goals to take a fine 6-2 away win.

Dean Phillips scored what proved to be a consolation goal for Hilton FC as they lost 3-1 at home to Randall Rangers. Nathaniel James, Kurt Lee and Adam Woolley were on target for Rangers as Hilton were unable to put their chances away.

The first 45 minutes were evenly contested as Sandwell Action played at home to BNG FC Handsworth, with both teams unable to break the deadlock before the whistle.

The second half saw Sandwell spring to life. An early goal opened the floodgates to a further three without reply.
