GORNAL boss Andy Wyton says his side must now secure back-to-back away victories to keep tabs on leaders Sporting Khalsa.

The Peacocks dropped points last Saturday when drawing 2-2 at home to mid-table side Wellington.

They were due to face strugglers Shifnal Town away last night before travelling to promotion rivals AFC Bridgnorth this Saturday.

"We have got to win the next two games," said Wyton. "That is the target.

"We were woeful against Wellington and didn't deserve to win because of how bad we were at the back.

"The players know it and know they must bounce back with two wins.

"Saturday's game at Bridgnorth is a massive game for us. If we want to keep tabs on the leaders then we must win it.

"We don't want to end the season wondering about what could have been. If Khalsa slip up, though it is unlikely, we must be the next in line to take advantage."

Athletic couldn't have had a better start at Garden Walk on Saturday as forward Dreniz Bala opened the scoring in the first minute of the game.

However, twice Wellington hit back to share the spoils. First from the penalty spot after 34 minutes and again to cancel out a strike from Danny Crudgington to level it at 2-2.

Meanwhile, midfielder Craig Stevens left the club last week to join neighbours Dudley Sports.
