NEW Bartley Green Illey boss Aaron Blackwood was happy with his teams performance in the 4-0 victory over Gornal Colts , but insists there is still more to come from his evolving side.

The manager gave six home debuts to signings made since their last fixture and was pleased with their contribution.

He said: "The new lads have fitted in well, having worked with them before they know what's expected. I think those signings plus the existing players gave us a good mix of youth and experience out there."

One of those new signings, Troy Stephens, made an instant impact, netting a 31 minute hat-trick for his new club, something Blackwood was unsurprised about: "Troy's a finisher and given half a chance it'll more often than not end up in the net.

"His second was a wonderful strike, a great goal - there's no question of his ability, we just need to get his match fitness up to speed so we can ensure he's at his peak."

Blackwood added "To win 4-0 was great, I think the lads were good value for it. They've taken everything on board that's been asked of them and put it into practice."

"We can't get ahead of ourselves, we know its only one result but there's more to come from this side, no doubt about that."
