TIVIDALE'S home form will be key to how well they finish the season, says boss Ian Long.

Tivi will have a busy time at The Beeches during the run-in as they prepare to play eight out of their remaining ten games at home.

Maintaining their good run in front of their own fans is now Long's main aim as he looks to end the campaign on a high.

"Our home form has been very good since the turn of the year and that could be a big factor to help us end the season strong," he said.

"That is now our aim. The play-off places a probably out of our reach but we want to get as close as we can.

"It could be important as we plan for next season. It will help us sell what we are trying to do here to new and existing players."

Long also confirmed that he has drawn up a shortlist of players that he wants to bring in during the close season.

"We have plans in place for how we want to strengthen the squad," he added.

"We want to bring in a few more players to improve us in the attacking third. That is the main area we need to improve."

Meanwhile, Tivi bounced back to form with back-to-back victories last week.

After bagging a 3-2 home win over Goole last Tuesday they then secured another three points away at basement boys Brigg Town.

Goals from forward Karl Edwards and winger Jamie King gave them a comfortable 2-0 win.

"We put in a professional performance and got the job done," added Long.

"It wasn't a great game but we managed to play with a high tempo and deserved the win."

Tivi were knocked out of the Walsall Senior Cup by Chasetown on Tuesday night.

Long's men will return to league action this Saturday when Brigg Town visit for the return fixture.
