LYE Town boss Martin Thomas has warned his players not to end the season with a whimper.

Town lost 1-0 against bottom three side Dunkirk last Saturday.

Thomas now wants the side to react at home against Stourport Swifts this Saturday.

"We had most of the ball but didn't do enough with it," said the boss.

"We needed to be more clinical in front of goal. It was a half-soaked performance and the players have been told they must put that right."

His calls for a reaction came after he and joint-manager Darren Goodall met with chairman Brian Blakemore on Monday.

The trio came together for a season analysis earlier than usual this year after a stuttering end to the current campaign.

"We sat down earlier this year because of how we have ended the season a little disappointingly. We all decided that we will continue next season and keep working to develop the club," said Thomas.

"It has been a great season for the club. We must now make sure we end it well.

"It is our last home game on Saturday and we must make sure we reward the fans that come and pay to watch us."
