THE Dudley and Cradley Heath League are considering setting up an 18 to 20 year old age group division for next season for teams that do not continue after under 18’s football.

The league has done research and noticed a gap at this level where teams do not seem to carry on as they are then drawn in to playing against older teams. The idea of this league is that it allows the teams to continue playing against players in their own age group and not having the big step up to the senior age group.

Like other local leagues, very few new teams are coming forward and so we hope that this will eventually enable these young sides to advance in to the existing senior divisions without the current giant step forward.

The Dudley and Cradley Heath League offer football from August to April with their league and cup fees at a very modest cost, we can also provide qualified match officials for this age group.

Any teams that are interested in this new league are being invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, May 19 at 7.45pm to discuss the proposed new division in more detail. The meeting will be held at the Dudley Ex-servicemen Club, Hall Street, Dudley on the corner of Firs Street.
