NETHERTON brushed aside Himbleton to secure their second win of the campaign last Saturday.

After winning the toss and electing to put their visitors into bat, Netherton soon set about dismantling the Himbleton batting line-up.

Star man Jack Green, who would end the innings with four wickets for just 27 runs, dismissed both openers.

He had skipper Jon Critchlow trapped lbw for nine and sent Sean Jenkins' stumps flying with him only on five.

Fellow bowlers Dominic Priest and Matt Lowe were also on song as the trio ripped through Himbleton's order.

Only Martyn Preece (10), batting at five, reached double figures as the visitors were bowled out for just 63 in the 35th over of the afternoon.

It was then down to the Netherton batsmen to complete the job.

A steady 22 from opener Troy Lee, who was eventually caught by Stuart Dickenson from the bowling of George Clifton, set the home side well on the way.

Clifton had already removed captain Russell Oseland for nine but he couldn't prevent Netherton edging towards a second success of the season in Division Three of the Worcestershire County League.

Wicketkeeper Paul Harris (9 no) and number six Andy Lewis (8 no) completed the job to move their side into second place.

Netherton will now travel to Old Vigornians this Saturday.
