TIVIDALE manager Ross Thorpe says work is well underway to build an entire new squad ahead of the coming season.

The joint-boss is busy making plans with fellow manager Phil Male to rejuvenate Tivi's decimated playing staff.

The duo face a busy few weeks after the majority of last season's squad moved to link-up with former Beeches boss Ian Long at Alvechurch.

Skipper Richard Huckfield, Zac Foster, Karl Edwards, Chris Field, Paul Evans, Andy Parsons, Ryan Winwood, Sam Williams, David Bellis, Danny Priest, Luke Paskin, Danny Ashton, Leigh Downing, Mike Wardle, Mark Smith and Nigel Penny have all gone to Lye Meadow.

Striker Jordan Archer also left last week to go to Redditch United.

Their departure comes hot on the heels of goalkeeper Charlie Price's move to Stourbridge.

Thorpe said: "This has come as no surprise to us. We expected this after speaking to the players soon after we took charge.

"We knew it would happen and have already started speaking to players.

"We need to bring in a whole new squad and already have signings lined up.

"It is going to a case of improving the quality throughout the season as well. There will be no quick fix but we know what we have to do.

Thorpe also highlighted the impact the club's younger players could have.

He added: "We will now be running a development squad to complement our under-18 side and provide a good link to the first team.

"The situation means many will have an opportunity to make a mark in the first team if they come in for pre-season and work hard.

"We will be looking at them and seeing if they can make the step up."
