BOSS Ross Thorpe thinks Tividale’s fortunes could quickly change if they become more ruthless in front of goal.

Tivi were foiled on a number of occasions by Goole goalkeeper Thomas Beaurepaire as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the Beeches last Saturday.

Bobby Johnson dispatched the ball into the bottom corner from the penalty spot after Tividale’s Jason Chilton had fouled Goole’s Matt Semley as he attempted to clear.

However, Thorpe thinks wins could be on the horizon for his team if those game-changing moments start swinging their way.

He said: “They had a lot of possession in the first half but never really hurt us.

“We were quite comfortable and Tom Turner in goal never had much to do.

“We had the chances to go in with a lead at half-time but couldn't take them. Their 'keeper made some really important saves and it meant they could dig in during the second half and hold on to what they had.

“They deserve a lot of credit because they put people behind the ball and defended very well. We just couldn’t break them down.

“You have to think that it will change soon.

"If we can take our chances, then our games will be a lot different.

“We will continue to work hard and keep fighting.”

Tivi are set to take on Basford at home tonight before going to Stockbridge Park Steels this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Thorpe and fellow joint-boss Phil Male have boosted their ranks with the arrival of three short-term additions.

Sam Adkins, Richard Gregory and Jordan Cullinane-Liburd have all linked up.

Birmingham-born midfielder Adkins, 23, joins from Southern Premier League outfit Stratford Town and started his youth career with Walsall, making one senior appearance for the Saddlers during a 1-0 defeat at Peterborough United before being released in the summer of 2010.

Gregory also joins from Stratford, where the striker had been restricted to a solitary outing this campaign and joins on a dual-registration agreement.

Defender Cullinane-Liburd returns to Dale from Redditch Unitedafter making one appearance earlier this season, a narrow 1-0 home league defeat at the hands of league leaders Stafford Rangers.
