ASHLEY Morris is backing Cradley to preserve their unbeaten Monmore record when they face King’s Lynn next Monday (7.30pm).

Morris, who has been in blistering form on his return to the club, points to the improvement shown by the team in their opening two meetings.

And he says there is plenty more to come from the revamped Heathens, who include youngsters with little experience in league racing.

He said: “We want to try and keep that improvement going against King’s Lynn. They have a solid side but if everyone can just keep moving forwards then we should be fine.

“If everyone carries on gaining confidence with every meeting like they are at the minute then we are only going to get better.

“I’m really enjoying my time back with the Heathens, it feels like I’ve never been away and all the lads are getting on great together.

“We have a group chat on a phone app and we’re texting each other every day, there’s plenty of banter and things like that – and even the management get involved in it now and again.

“The fans are obviously pleased with what they’re seeing and we can’t thank them enough for their support, it makes a massive difference.”

Morris himself has enjoyed a spectacular return to National League racing, dropping just one point in his opening two meetings and being involved in some scintillating action in their encounter with Rye House.

He has also been boosted by a temporary move to Scunthorpe in the Premier League as he eyes as much track time as possible.

With no fixture clashes with Cradley, he believes the Heathens will also reap the rewards as he aims to seize his opportunity in the second tier.

“I tried my other bike last week which felt really fast, especially from the gate,” he added.

“I had some good races so I really enjoyed myself. The track staff did a great job considering the rain we’d had, so it was a fun night and I’m pleased with how things are going at the moment.

“I’ve got a chance to ride for Scunthorpe now which is a good chance to get me some more meetings and get back riding in the Premier League.

“I’ll be giving my all to try and score plenty of points and hopefully get a full-time team place whether it’s at Scunthorpe or somewhere else.

“Whatever happens it’s a positive move for me. It doesn’t clash with any of my Cradley meetings and the fact I’ll be riding more can only help me to ride better.”
