STOURBRIDGE'S youth team proved the future is bright at the War Memorial Ground when completing a treble-winning season.

The youngsters bagged the Midland Floodlight League Southern Premier by nine points, the Worcester County Cup with a 3-1 victory over Kidderminster Harriers and the Staffordshire County Cup when beating Bilston Town 5-2 despite being 2-0 down at half time.

The campaign could have been even better for the Glassboys youth side after they suffered semi-final defeats in both the Birmingham County Cup and League Cup.

Another highlight proved a fine FA Youth Cup run to the first round when only narrowly losing 3-2 at home to Chesterfield.

Overall, the team have only lost four games out of 28 in all competitions this season.

Under the current management of Dave King and assistant Gary Brown they have won four league titles, seven county cups and one league cup, completing the treble three times.

Two players have also been guided into professional football in the form of Jordon Murphy (Walsall) and Kieron Morris (Brentford).

The backroom staff include coach Steve Fellows, goalkeeping coach Steve Meeson, physio Sian Jackson and secretary Keith Grainger.
