TIVIDALE boss Dave King praised the club's supporters who turned out in force to cheer them on as they beat Black Country Rangers 1-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

King enthused: "The weather was superb and it seemed to bring people out off the estate. It was a really good turnout and a great advert for non-league football.

Tividale's win came courtesy of a Luke Morris penalty and King confirmed: "About three quarters of the squad are already in place. There's still a few trialists that I still need to make a decision on."

King will be hoping for another large crowd when Tividale entertain his former club Stourbridge on Thursday night at Packwood Road.

Tividale then host neighbours Dudley Town on Saturday before the new campaign starts for real.

They kick-off with an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round clash at home to West Midlands League side Wolverhampton Sporting Community on August 6.

Tividale then commence their Midland League programme with a home fixture as well when they take on Walsall Wood, who are one of the pre-season favourites for the title.
