HALESOWEN Golf Club had the honour of hosting two county competitions which attracted top players from throughout Worcestershire.

Clubs were invited to enter two players who had won club competitions earlier in the year.

Every players competed for the English Golf Union Centenary Salver where the winner was decided on the best net score.

In addition, the R & A Centenary Salver was to be awarded to the team of two players having the best combined net score.

Adam Vanstone of Cocks Moors Woods was a clear winner of the Centenary Salver finishing five shots clear of his nearest rival with a magnificent net score of 63 (gross 72).

Consistent golf from the Droitwich pairing of Andrew Guyatt ( net 68) and Phil Storey (net 70) saw them beat rivals from Stourbridge to win the R & A Centenary Salver.

Halesowen president Trevor Norman was then invited to join Will Painter, who is President of Worcestershire Union of Golf Clubs in presenting the prizes.
